LAUSD Middle School Teacher Arrested for Abusing Student

Colleen Jo Matarico, a 43-year old special education teacher from John Burroughs Middle School in Hancock Park, has been arrested and charged with eight felony counts in connection with sexual abuse of a student.

Matarico, a mother of two herself, is accused of sexually abusing the student beginning when he was 13 years old and continuing for more than a year. Detectives believe Matarico may have abused other minor students as well.
