Eric Uller Child Molester Case

Eric Uller, who was a Principal Technology Analyst with the Santa Monica’s Information Systems Department, was charged with multiple accounts of child sexual abuse in October of last year. He was found impersonating a Santa Monica police officer in order to lure and sexually groom young boys. Uller was a volunteer at the Santa Monica Police Activities League where he mingled with at-risk teenage boys.

He was charged with:

• Three counts, PC 288 (a), Lewd or Lascivious Acts Involving Children
• Two counts, PC 287 (a), Oral Copulation of a person under 18 
• One count, PC 288.5 (a), Continuous Sexual Abuse

The crimes were committed between 1986-2010. He pleaded not guilty to these charges on November 5th, 2018. His bail was set at $750,000 after this hearing. After being accused of one account, at least nine other people have come forward saying they were sexually assaulted by him as well. On November 15, 2018, Uller was found dead in his apartment the day he was expected back in court. Reports indicate it was suicide. If he had been convicted of these crimes, Uller would have faced up to 23 years in prison. However, the city will continue the investigation despite his death. Many more victims are suspected to have been sexually assaulted through this PAL program and a youth tech program Uller volunteered with during 2012-2017.
